2 Row Brewing’s story began in 2010 with a simple home-brew kit. What started as a Christmas gift quickly turned into a passion for Brian, the brewery’s master brewer. After diving into books, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending weekends perfecting recipes, Brian began entering home-brew competitions. To his surprise, he kept winning, proving he had something special. As the hobby grew, the operation moved from the kitchen to the garage, but Brian knew he needed more space to take things further. When he found a three-barrel brewhouse for sale in Georgia, he and his wife DeDe flew out, dismantled the entire system, and hauled more than five tons of brewing equipment back to Utah. Even a tornado and a near truck mishap along the way could not stop the dream. They eventually opened their first location in a small industrial space in Midvale, Utah, but the brewery quickly outgrew it. In 2023, 2 Row Brewing expanded into a massive 16,000-square-foot facility featuring a large taproom and full bar. Guests can enjoy the brewery’s lineup of craft beers while hanging out around pool tables and dart boards in a lively, welcoming atmosphere. The name “2 Row” reflects the brewery’s philosophy. While many large breweries rely on six-row barley, 2 Row focuses on two-row barley, known for producing higher-quality craft beer. It is a nod to their commitment to flavor, craftsmanship, and doing things differently. Today, 2 Row Brewing continues to pour its passion into every batch, turning a home-brew hobby into one of Utah’s well-known craft beer destinations.
